Midtown Community Services - Youth After-School Program Facilitator

Description: 

Assist our youth program staff to facilitate our after-school program for children ages 5-12. Typical daily activities include homework tutoring, STEM activities, arts & crafts, cooking, gardening, and activities that help children develop healthy self-esteem and general social skills.

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in development and maintenance of a safe and fun environment for youth ages 5-18 years in daily after-school setting.
  • Implement structured education-based program activities in a safe environment.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with community and families.
  • Act as a positive role-model for students.
  • Participate and implement support program safety to ensure students are in a safe environment.
  • Help implement special community events (approximately 1x month).
  • Help implement weekly Teen Club meetings
  • Special projects or assignments as requested.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Must have accepted a Federal Work-Study award for the current academic year.
  • Must be available to work at least 2 days a week between 3pm and 5:30pm. More hours are available, but we mostly need help during actual after-school time.
  • Must pass a background check to meet Missouri childcare requirements

 

Preferred Skills: 

The ideal person for this position is outgoing, patient, and enjoys working with children.
