Early Education Materials Support Worker - Grand Center Inc. - Nine PBS

The Early Education Materials Support Worker is a self-motivated individual with excellent organizational and communication skills, and a ken attention to detail. This position advances Nine PBS's early learning initiative work to actively care for children from our region’s most under-resourced neighborhoods. Specifically, the Early Education Materials Support Worker supports the team’s need for a comprehensive approach to organizing educational materials for distribution to our partner sites. This role will work to organize our supply area and assemble resource kits to be used by children and families in our hands-on learning sessions. In addition, the person occupying this role must have reliable transportation, because once materials and resources are organized, they will need to deliver materials to our partner sites ahead of scheduled sessions. All mileage will be reimbursed.

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Utilize effective communication skills to convey the status of resource kit preparation for timely distribution to sites.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records of resource kit supplies.
  • Track supply stock levels and communicate supply needs promptly to initiate new orders.
  • Organize and store supplies in designated areas for easy access.
  • Prepare supplies for early learning events, delivery, or shipping.
  • \Check inventory shipments for accuracy and quality.
  • Provide support with inventory management systems.
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull 10-15 pounds of items consistently.
  • Remove recycling (i.e., cardboard) and trash as needed.
  • Maintain professional and friendly relationships with partner sites.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Must have accepted a Federal Work-Study award for the current academic year.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Google Docs,
  • Must have willingness to be trained on supply tracking systems
  • Must be extremely detail oriented with the ability to multi-task, independently determine which projects need to be prioritized, and communicate project status effectively.
  • Must have reliable transportation to deliver resource kits to community partners. All mileage will be reimbursed.

 

Preferred Skills: 

College coursework or experience in education, communications, social services, public health, early childhood development, community engagement work, professional organization, or related discipline, is preferred.
