Job Description:
The Community & Festival Engagement Internship at the Kranzberg Arts Foundation offers students interested in public programming, arts administration, festivals, and nonprofit leadership a hands-on, community-rooted experience.
This intern will support the planning and execution of community outreach initiatives and assist with engagement efforts leading up to and during major events and Music at the Intersection festival. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with the public, supporting event logistics, working in a high energy environment and helping cultivate meaningful relationships between arts organizations and the communities they serve.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support the Director of Community Engagement and Programs & Partnerships team with administrative and operational tasks related to community engagement initiatives and festival preparation.
- Assist in planning and implementing community outreach activations, including neighborhood events, information sessions, and festival tabling opportunities.
- Help coordinate and prepare tabling materials, informational resources, and engagement tools used at outreach events and festivals.
- Represent the Foundation at community events and outreach opportunities, engaging with residents, artists, and community partners while sharing information about programs and upcoming events.
- Provide on-site support during festivals and large-scale events, assisting with setup, engagement stations, and audience interaction.
- Work alongside the Director of Community Engagement to support volunteer coordination, including check-ins, troubleshooting, and helping triage needs during live events.
- Assist with communication and outreach, including drafting emails, coordinating with community partners, and helping schedule outreach opportunities.
- Support data tracking and impact documentation, including attendance tracking, survey collection, and engagement reporting.
- Help organize and maintain outreach supplies, event materials, and documentation related to engagement activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be awarded Federal Work-Study for summer 2026.
- Interest in community engagement, festivals, the arts, or nonprofit work.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially in public-facing environments.
- Comfortable engaging with community members and representing an organization in public spaces.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments, particularly during events and festivals.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to problem-solve and make thoughtful decisions in dynamic settings.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
