Grand Center - HEAL Center for the Arts - Program, Events & Media Assistant

Description: 

The Program, Events & Media Assistant will work approximately 15 hours per week to support HEAL Center for the Arts’ classes, rehearsals, performances, and community events. 

The assistant will help prepare program spaces, support students and instructors, assist with basic event logistics, and take photos and videos during HEAL activities. The content may be used for HEAL’s social media, website, reports, and promotional materials. 

The schedule may include afternoons, evenings, and occasional weekends based on HEAL’s program and event calendar

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Support HEAL’s classes, rehearsals, performances, workshops, and community events. 
  • Help prepare program and event spaces, including chairs, music stands, instruments, signage, and supplies. 
  • Assist with both instructor and student check-in, attendance, dismissal, and general on-site support. 
  • Proactively capture photos and videos of students, instructors, classes, rehearsals, performances, and events. 
  • Organize and maintain HEAL’s photo and video files.
  • Create short promotional content, including performance highlights, Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels, and YouTube Shorts. 
  • Assist with recording educational videos for HEAL’s music curriculum and online learning resources. 
  • Support all events setup, guest assistance, backstage needs, breakdown, and cleanup. 
  • Help organize and move instruments, equipment, and program materials. 
  • Follow HEAL’s policies regarding student safety, privacy, media permissions, and appropriate content use. 
  • Communicate program, event, equipment, or media needs to the Program Coordinator or supervisor.
  • Represent HEAL professionally when working with students, families, staff, instructors, volunteers, and community partners.

 

Required Qualifications/Skills: 

  • Must have accepted a Federal Work-Study award for the current academic year.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, instructors, volunteers, and youth.
  • Reliable, professional, and punctual.
  • Ability to lift and move program and event materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Availability to work some evenings and weekends in support of programs, performances, and community events.

 

Preferred Qualifications/Skills: 

  • Interest in music, performing arts, youth programs, events, photography, videography, or social media.
  • Experienced in taking high quality photos and/or videos.
  • Experience with Canva, CapCut, iMovie, or similar tools is helpful but not required. 
  • Positive and team-oriented attitude.
