Northside Youth and Senior Center - D.R.E.A.M.S. Student Tutors & Volunteers

We are the D.R.E.A.M.S. (Dedicated, Responsible, Energetic, and Motivated Students) program working as a part of the Northside Youth and Senior Services Center, Inc. The D.R.E.A.M.S. program is based out of Sumner High School located at 4248 Cottage Ave. St. Louis, MO 63113. The mission of D.R.E.A.M.S. is to provide quality programming to the students of Sumner High School. We believe in giving our students opportunities they need to succeed by supplying them with academic assistance, homework help, mentorship, college readiness, educational field trips, and job preparation skills/support.

We are seeking professional and dedicated college students to work with our students. We are in need of energetic and knowledgeable individuals who would be willing to help tutor Sumner High School students with their homework. The tutor(s) would need to be available during or after school (Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm).

We are a site for SLU’s Community Service Federal Work-Study program and if you are a participant and/or eligible for work study, you can work up to 15 hours and get paid bi-weekly. If you are not a part of the work-study program, we still have volunteer opportunities available and would welcome your participation.

If you are interested in taking part in this exciting opportunity to help Sumner High School youth or have any additional questions, please contact either our Program Manager (Angie Dobynes: 314-517-4138, amdobynes2@yahoo.com) or our Program Assistant (Rachel Goldmeier: 314-629-3885, rachel.goldmeier@gmail.com). We are available either through phone or email throughout the week and we look forward to hearing from you soon.
