Urban Ag Program Assistant - Gateway Greening
The Teen Program Assistant support Dig It Teen Internship Program, working with the Teen Program Coordinator and Farm Manager to support farm-based instruction. Gateway Greening's Urban Farm is an urban agriculture initiative providing job training and therapeutic horticulture to individuals struggling with homelessness and hosing a teen internship and summer employment program. it features 48 raised vegetable beds, a native plant nursery, dwarf fruit tree orchard, ornamental shrub borders, drop irrigation, rainwater catch cistern, outdoor classroom, harvest station, tool sheds, composting bins and 5 bee hives. Food grown at Gateway Greening's Urban Farm is donated to nearby food pantries, distributed to CSA members, and sold wholesale to Food Outreach.
An Urban AG intern would have the opportunity to work with all aspects of the farm, thus helping the Urban Farm to improve both agriculturally and programmatically.

- Assist the Teen Program Coordinator in facilitating Dig It internship activities
- Assist the Urban Farm Manager in all aspects of crop production and farm maintenance
- Assist the Food Distribution Coordinator with CSA perp and distribution
- Educate visitors about Urban Farm and Gateway Greening, lead clients & volunteers in farm tasks
- Assist in Urban Farm events, field trips, guest speaking opportunities, demonstrations and tours
