Mission: St. Louis - Beyond School Aide Americorps

The Aide position for our Beyond School Program is an AmeriCorps service opportunity. It requires someone who is great at connecting with kids. They must be able to respond with positive, appropriate behavior, even in frustrating situations with highly at-risk youth. Aides report to the Beyond School Program Coordinator and must be willing to take direction, voice ideas in a respectful manner, and function as a team member with other Beyond School staff. AmeriCorps members commit to 300 hours for the year and receive an Education award ($1,374.60) in addition to the work study stipend. Responsibilities

● Attend Beyond School program 3-4 days a week from 3:30-6:30 PM, Monday-Thursday. (candidates can choose Monday-Thursday or any 3 days)

● Maintain safety and control of students and uphold Beyond School student expectations

● Go through background check and fulfill AmeriCorps training requirements

● Report discipline problems to Beyond School Coordinator

● Ensure students are positively representing Mission: St. Louis in the community

● Work with students during Academic Time to deliver individualized lessons

● Serve with fellow Beyond School staff as a consistent and fair disciplinarian for our students

● Work with team to implement the Beyond School Culture Manual policies

● Foster a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for our students, parents, staff, and volunteers
