City Garden Montessori School - Part Time Food Service Assistant – Early Childhood Education Center

Prepare and serve lunch in a courteous customer service-oriented manner. Organize and set up equipment and workstations. Perform duties following health, food service, government and other regulations. Daily hours when school is in session: 10 am to 1:00 pm.

ESSENTIAL TASKS:

·               Practice personal hygiene and proper sanitation procedures.

·               Turn on, test and monitor equipment at the beginning of the day.

·               Food portioning and some preparation by written and oral instructions.

·               Monitor food and equipment temperatures at all times.

·               Set up and break down of serving areas.

·               Receive, daily food delivery and check food temperature as soon as delivery is received.

·               Rotate incoming and inventory.

·       Perform dishwashing duties, cleaning of kitchen, sweeping and mopping daily, maintaining a neat, clean and safe work environment.

·               Demonstrate knowledge of sanitation practices. Servesafe certification is required. 

·               Sign in and work according to a time schedule.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES General knowledge of materials and methods used in preparing foods on a large scale. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, students and school staff. Able to maintain emotional control; ability to work with others in a close fast paced environment.
