The Biome School - Before School Enrichment Coach

Position Description - Before School Enrichment Coach Hours: Mon - Fri, 6:30 - 8:00 am As directed by the Extended Day Program Manager, responsible for implementing supportive activities to assist Kindergarten – 5th grade students in achieving program goals. The Enrichment Coach will lead small groups of students in a variety of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) enrichment activities, as well as literacy and SEL activities.

Responsibilities and Duties: 1. Contributes to and implements activities approved by the Extended Day Program Manager. 2. Collaborates with and supports other coaches and program staff when necessary. 3. Serves as a positive role model for learners by maintaining a professional attitude. 4. Assures the safety of learners in all activities. 5. Assists with learner snack, play, and club time. 6. Monitors behavior of learners and address disciplinary needs in accordance with approved policies and procedures. 7. Maintains all space and materials used during program activities. 8. Helps supervise volunteers, as needed. 9. Meets all reporting requirements directed by the Extended Day Program Manager. 10. Participates in program staff meetings and professional development sessions. 11. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. 12. Responsible for all activity and room preparations for the program.

Requirements

  • Must have accepted a Federal Work-Study award for the 2024-2025 academic year.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and meet the requirements of the licensing agency. 
  • Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school 
  • Treat all students with dignity and respect. 
  • Requires a willingness to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with the School’s program and philosophy. 
  • Ability to follow directions and perform work activities as assigned by the Extended Day Program Manager. 
  • Meet high attendance standards; arriving and departing on time. 
  • Ability to work closely with co-workers and other employees and set an example for the participants and form a positive, supportive team atmosphere. 
  • Ability to use good judgment and effective problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least one year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified preferred 

• First Aid Certification 

• CPR Certification 

• Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions. 

• Ability to read and write. 

• Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
