The Sengupta Neuroscience lab in the Biology Dept. is looking to hire a student worker for 12-15 hours a week to contribute to animal husbandry and molecular biology experiments in the Sengupta Lab. 

 

Daily Tasks

Following standard operating procedures for working with zebrafish, the student worker will perform the following duties which include, but are not limited to:  Record water quality, Ensure feedings of the adult and baby fish, Maintain and harvest saltwater rotifers, Wash and sterilize  tanks and other equipment, Perform daily, weekly, and monthly duties to maintain the operating quality of the fish facility equipment as well as the health of the fish.

 

Qualifications

  • Able to work independently and showcase problem solving skills.
  • Able to work in a warm and humid environment.
  • Able to wear protective equipment to provide standard care to research animals.
  • Working knowledge of basic computer software
  • Able to work on weekends and some holidays.
