City Garden Montessori School - Part-Time Care Assistant
Description:
Assist with the school's before care and aftercare programs. Current members of City Garden's staff will supervise the FWS workers. We would love to have SLU students with skills/ talents in art, music, dance, creative writing, poetry, etc. to engage our students and connect with them.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Safely supervise students indoors and outside, using good judgment in dealing with situations – behavioral, safety, instructional, etc.
•Facilitate activities for students
• Keep accurate attendance records following check-in and check-out procedures Before Care Hours: Monday through Friday, 6:45 to 8:45 am. Aftercare Hours: Monday through Friday, 3:00 to 6:00 pm. We will accept any combination of days as long as it is consistent
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Loves working with kids!
- Experience working with students in a school or other supervised setting (YMCA, community center, day camp, church, etc.) -- OR -- Babysitting/ child care experience and comfortable being with the inquisitive, fun, surprising nature of little ones
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with others
- Dependability – our students need us to be there for them
- Demonstrated commitment to equity and anti-biased/anti-racist principles
