Link STL Summer Camp Counselor

The summer camp, in the Hyde Park neighborhood, is to ensure 60+ youth in the Hyde Park neighborhood are safe, fed and their brains don’t turn to mush. The camp is an 8-week, all-day camp for kids ages 5 – 14. The camp will have activities that are offered by other resources but the kids will be overseen by camp counselors whose responsibilities will be to ensure the kids get to their scheduled activities and/or are playing well with others. Each of the 60+ youth will be divided into a 10-youth groups and it is the counselor’s responsibilities to get to know each kid, get them to their assigned activities, help them to participate and notice any behavior concerns. The observations will be turned over to the camp’s director for further assistance. It is the camp counselor’s responsibility to ensure the campers in their group have a fun experience and participate in the daily activities. The youth will be taken on field trips to experience new adventures, which the counselors will help expand their learning.
